Moby Kids is an outpatient therapeutical health program for overweight and obese children and adolescents. The aim is a longterm weight stabilization and an advancement of the quality of life. The program runs for one year. The children or adolescents meet weekly in the afternoons in their fixed Group for a three-hour session. The contents in these lessons are always physical exercises and alternating about nutrition and psychosocial issues. There are also different advanced training offers for parents. By changing the nutrition and exercise habits and by an increased self-esteem the health-related disposition as well as social and emotional well-being are improved. After one year of regular participation, 67% are successful (reduction or rather no increase of BMI-SDS). These 67% can hold the results up to four years after the program start.
